Here in the café section, soy latte-ing & computing, a young man has brushed my leg aside, looking under the table for a power outlet. He didn’t say please or excuse me, simply pushed my leg aside. After all, it was in his way & he has the right to a free power supply & my leg was preventing him from accessing it. T-mobile wifi is available here, as is free power, so this is his office & workstation – he has the right to be here! It’s only a little bit of power, so it has no effect on anything or anyone at all! It’s only such a little thing! And the old dude’s leg was in the way! Why be polite? He’s an old goat!
How do I know this attitude will thwart this young man’s hopes & aspirations? It won’t be his fault – he’s done nothing wrong! Life is unfair, unjust, serving him a raw deal.
Shortly, off to immersion in the Rapid Acculturation Program at the Majestic Multiscreen, the Rapid Acculturation Provider of the day.
20.27 The films on offer, and I tasted several, did not engage me. I was unable to get further than the technique & mechanics of the acting & film-making. The art is to conceal the craft? Almost. When craft disappears from view, it is a by-product of artistry, not a direct aim in itself.
Practising. Now wilting. Wilt.
